2018-2019 Season Opening Day Trail Report
We have a mixed bag of early season conditions for opening day with great to poor conditions to be found. There are spots in Derby with excellent snow cover and spots in Holland with little snow cover.
Trails are OPEN except Trail 105 from Junctions OS 3 to OS 4. That is temporarily closed until Tuesday the 18th.
Trail 14 -Good ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️
Trail 5 - Fair ⭐️⭐️
Trail 105 - Good (Closed from OS 3 to the Morgan Country Store Feeder until Tuesday and Closed from OS 8 to Derby Line Feeder for the season) ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trail 105A - Poor (Not recommended for travel until we receive more snow.)⭐️
Trail 2001 - Good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trail 2001F -Good ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Best access East of Derby is to park at the Seymour Lake Beach Parking lot and take Trail 2001 F to Trail 2001 or Trail 105. Junctions OS 4 and OS 74 are new and we haven’t received the signs yet. (NOTE: 2001 is a new VAST Trail this season and is not displayed on the VAST paper map.) Trail 105 between Northeast Kingdom Snow Blasters and Brighton Snowmobile Club is in excellent shape should you choose to ride that loop.
⚠️Do not travel across any frozen bodies of water! No ice is safe ice.
Unfortunately Mother Nature won this battle but the season is just beginning. We had near perfect conditions, but yesterdays rain opened up several water bars. As always, ride with caution and expect water holes and hazards in the trail.
