2026 VAST BEST GROOMED TRAILS

We are incredibly proud to share that we were presented with the 2026 Best Groomed Trails Award at the 2026 VAST Annual Meeting, held right in our back yard.

This is a special recognition because it reflects the experiences and appreciation of the riders who enjoy Vermont’s trail system. We received overwhelming support from riders who recognized the pride, dedication, and countless hours that go into creating an outstanding riding experience.

From the award presentation:

“Across numerous nominations, one message was repeated again and again: this club consistently delivers some of the best groomed trails in Vermont and throughout New England.”

Riders praised the club for commitment to the entire trail system, not just a few select areas. From regular grooming and trail maintenance to improvements, reroutes, signage, and rider destinations, our volunteers continue to look for ways to make the trail experience better year after year.

“Many riders shared that they immediately know when they enter this club’s trail system because of the quality and consistency of the grooming. One rider described seeing the club’s sign and knowing the trails ahead would be in excellent condition.”

Others shared that Drift Dusters helped create unforgettable riding experiences, including new riders experiencing Vermont snowmobiling for the very first time.

Families recognized more than just the trails themselves. They appreciated the complete experience, including places to stop, warming huts, and the care that goes into making the trail system enjoyable for everyone.

The award also recognized something our grooming crew knows very well:

“What makes this club stand out is not just operating a groomer; it is understanding the art and science behind grooming. Knowing when to groom, how to manage changing conditions, and how to make the most of the snow available takes years of experience and dedication.”

Operating at lower elevations brings unique challenges, including limited snow and changing weather conditions. Our operators have learned how to work with those challenges by preserving snow, pulling it back onto the trail, and creating smooth, enjoyable conditions whenever possible.

“Riders commented that even after heavy weekend traffic, the trails remained smooth and well maintained. Many noted that they never questioned whether the club would be out grooming when conditions allowed because the volunteers have earned a reputation for reliability and commitment.”

And perhaps the most important part:

“Behind every smooth mile is a team of volunteers dedicating countless hours to grooming, maintaining equipment, improving trails, and communicating conditions with riders through social media and other platforms.”

This award belongs to all of them.

This award represents more than great trails. It recognizes teamwork, experience, pride, and a commitment to giving riders the best possible experience.
